VIRTUAL HOSTAGES, real crisis.
The government is being hounded by the media for a response, the Australian Embassy in Iraq has "activated its crisis centre to bring together experts from various areas to act as a taskforce", but, as yet, there are no hostages, only rumours of hostages.
Are these the same people who headlined this morning PM went overboard on bomb warning?
Did Henny Herald's Tom Allard really say "The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister relied on third-hand hearsay for their claim there was a text message warning of last week's bombing in Jakarta". And did Peter Hartcher really claim the government gave "the impression of a Government acting carelessly, even recklessly, in a national security matter".
I'm sure there's a word for preaching one thing and doing another.
