I AM GRATEFUL to a Canberra reader for drawing my attention to this heading from a large poster in a display at the National Museum of Australia:
The Lie of the Land"
As the rest of the text makes clear, the display is not about the fabrication of Terra Nullius. It assumes it to be true.
Instead it's calling our forebears liars for the offence of, according to Professor Henry Reynolds, believing it.
And there I was thinking that the Carroll review, and the new Director, had corrected the more egregious of the leftist doctrines that Museum staff are imposing on their visitors.
