WHAT EXPEDITION IS A GOOD EXPEDITION, Media Mark?
It is not clear as to what extent Latham's Labor is opposed to projecting the Australian Defence Force overseas. Australian expeditionary forces are serving in East Timor and the Solomon Islands.
Both deployments have been supported by Kevin Rudd, Labor's shadow foreign minister - although neither was specifically mentioned in Latham's Lowy Institute address. In recent years the ADF has also been involved in peacekeeping in Cambodia, Bosnia, Somalia, Bougainville, Rwanda and the Sinai. All commitments required the deployment of expeditionary forces.
Gerard Henderson puts it to the Latham Labor Party.
Media Mark's policy is not to answer questions like that.
He leaves that to poor old Ruddy.
