BBC CHAIR DAVIES slams the door really hard as he leaves Broadcast House.

“I have been brought up to believe that you cannot choose your own referee, and that the referee’s decision is final,” he said.

That doesn't mean you can't blow a raspberry at the ref as you leave the field:

The only thing final, in Davies view, is the right of the BBC to conduct its political campaigns without scrutiny.
